Valentine’s Day is coming up, and for many people, that means one thing – chocolate! Here’s the good news: chocolate can be good for you. Cacao, the base of chocolate, can lower blood pressure, improve circulation, and reduce the risk for diabetes and coronary heart disease. Dark chocolate is also full of antioxidants as well as vitamins and minerals.

But don’t reach for that chocolate bar just yet; no all chocolate is created equal. While a Hershey’s milk chocolate bar may feed your sweet tooth, it wont do much else for your health. Many commercial brands of chocolate have been highly processed and filled with milk and sugar.   Look for dark chocolate that has as least 70 percent cocoa, the higher the cacao content the better.
